Babatunde Oyedepo Is Not The Owner Of Naijagistlive - Website Admin Reacts

Babatunde Oyedepo

Contrarily to the earlier published statement by the Nigeria Police claiming that Babatunde Oyedepo is the owner of naijagistlive.com, it has turned out that he is not the real owner of Naijagistlive but just a web designer. Many more things has also been revealed regarding the 4 petitioners.

Here is a press statement from Naijagistlive.com admin.

‘The Nation’ reports “Police arrest man over attempt to defraud Otedola” but couldn’t state how Otedola was defrauded? How was money illegally obtained from him? What money did he lose? Where is the proof of the activities to “defraud” him? This type of journalism is a joke as they repeatedly wrote my name as naijagistlife.com because they couldn’t be bothered to click a site & do one ounce of investigation into their alleged “factual story”.

Today, @instablog9ja decided to repost the story defaming Babtunde Oyedepo as a fraudster. @instablog9ja of course, sits & culls stories from other blogs all day so he added his copy & paste paragraph from ‘The Nation’ & added in his own slanderous comments.

FYI @instablog9ja keeps DELETING MY COMMENTS stating the truth because if he leaves my comments up, it is proof that the story he reported would be false for wrongfully accusing an innocent man as the owner of Naijagistlive when I am sitting right here. I have been active on @9jagistlive3 since early morning. These are the “blogs” you people patronize & bash me when I only speak the truth. A journalists job is to report stories & uncover their own truths to add on to the story as it develops. If he was a real journalist, he would repost my post to prove I am active & state what I am allegedly saying against corruption & wrongful arrests. Too bad he is not looking for the truth; he is happy being a form of mediocre entertainment for a few minutes. Just another form of social media controlled by the corrupt.

Shina Peller allegedly was on his Instagram boasting that “he got the owner of Naijagistlive arrested” when a random person had written “sir you are posted on Naijagistlive”. Shina Peller then removed the comments because he likes to pretend like he is not bothered by anything posted about him which is why I’m exposing him. He does not want the credit for trying to take down NGL.

Why would a man who has never contacted me to even complain about a comment pretend like he was threatened or extorted for money? Because he can’t risk his dirty laundry being aired & admittance to his stories flying off the blog shows that they are factual.

Shina Peller likes to play nonchalant but he is the most pained & the worst part is he has street mentality. He could have contacted me, filed a formal complaint, done the necessary steps following the law even if he was trying to build a case of defamation of character.

Nigeria is a crazy place. There are many goons out there willing to do anything for money. Whether it is a police man turning a blind eye for a couple thousand naira or a police man who took some money under the desk to harass & torture an innocent person which is what has happened in this case.

We, the public, should not allow men with power or money to corrupt our justice system & law enforcement officials. This case is a prime example & will set precedent for many others where police officers accept bribes from these men to stay under their thumb for their own monetary gain. These “powerful men” in return go around bragging that they have officers, commissioners, judges & lawyers in their pockets.

Let’s check out the 4 petitioners in this alleged fraud/extortion case:

Shina Peller, a rumoured fraudster with his pockets being filled with 419 money.
Femi Otedola, dirty dealings in the past with banks, companies & he profited from robbing our country during the fuel subsidy when he allegedly fled the country after protesters visited him.
Dapo Balogun, rumoured thief & fraudster who robbed a fellow corrupt figure.
Tolani Bidmus, no stranger to adultery; character in question.

Don’t be fooled by these people trying to cover up their own dirty deeds of corruption with more corruption.

I am in support of the freedom of speech. Social media platforms & publications for cases like this are necessary to reveal the truth & crack the concrete corruption embedded into the sidewalks of our society today.

Me writing to all my readers today is proof that Babatunde Oyedepo is not the owner of Naijagistlive.com & if he is harmed in anyway, shape or form, we the public, will know the truth of what happened. This is the reason I am making this a public issue.

These ‘secret arrests’, hidden or missing paperwork, judges being paid off, lack of evidence, detaining someone unlawfully, torturing for information, restricted evidence hearings or denying the suspect to contact his or her lawyer is apparent in this case.

I wish I can reveal more to my readers. Everything will be out in the open, truth shall prevail.

I have screenshots, emails, paperwork of everything. I have never contacted anyone first to threaten, blackmail or extort. If I am contacted by a public relations company to do some reputation clean up, the PR company is paid to do so.

Naijagistlive has never contacted anyone initially but my contact information is stated if anyone has the need to contact me.

My ONLY email is naijagistlive.com@gmail.com

I have never threatened a Nigerian citizen.

I have never threatened anyone’s life verbally or written.

I have never attempted to extort a Nigerian citizen by demanding any amount of monetary value.

I have never demanded 3.5 million from “the lawyer”.

I have never had ANY CONTACT with Tolani Bidmus, Dapo Balogun, Shina Peller or Nana Otedola, let alone Femi Otedola.

I have never received a formal complaint from any of these “petitioners”, which is initially the first requirement of any case involving suing a blog.

I remove nude pictures off my site after a certain amount of time at my own discretion, I was never contacted to remove alleged nudes.

I was contacted by a Public Relations company on behalf of one of these names.

I have never claimed “Femi Otedola was sleeping with girls in his office”. (Many people have the screenshots & cache versions of my original story).

I am well versed in the laws involving extortion.

The person making the threat must state an intention to commit an injury or harmful action against the victim.

Nigeria is a lawless country; that is why these crooked cops were able to snap a picture of a person when he was not even officially charged.

Each & every person involved in this will be exposed for the false accusations & each & every petitioner must have the PROOF & paperwork to back up their claim for fraud, blackmail, threats & extortion.

No receipts were posted by any of the “journalists”.

Not only was Babatunde wrongfully accused, wrongfully arrested, wrongfully detained, protocol was not followed, his rights were taken away but the press intrusion that occurred this evening when two journalists named a suspect who had not officially been charged by Nigeria’s police department & released an unlawfully obtained photo will not go unseen & should never have happened.

If you think about someone who might be wrongly accused … that [accusation] is going to be on Google for the rest of his life and he will never be able to get away from it.

People are innocent until proven guilty. It has to have the force of law. There should be a presumption that people have anonymity at the point of arrest.

There was absolutely NO reason to reveal his identity. That picture was not taken in an official mugshot with a case number documented. It was taken with a personal phone which is illegal & should never have been posted publicly. Babatunde Oyedepo should not be penalized as a innocent bystander.

‘The Nation” & @instablog9ja should issue a retraction.

His character was defamed, he was ridiculed, he was written as a “fraudster” & “school drop out” by journalists who slandered his image where he will have sustainable loss & injury to his business & public image. He will have a strong lawsuit against the police department & these blogs for the loss & injury that he suffered.

A human rights lawyer is necessary.

I own a blog where I receive submissions daily. I will protect the anonymity of my sources.

It's Obvious They Want My Hubby Dead At All Cost - Fani-Kayode's Wife Cries Out

Fani-Kayode's Wife

Femi Fani-Kayode reportedly slumped in EFCC custody over the weekend, though EFCC has moved to debunk that and says is a blatant lie and accuse FFK's family for wanting cheap publicity but the wife Precious and his aide says it's true.

"Its very clear they want FFK dead at all cost. He is a man that would never give you the pleasure of seeing him down so saying he isn't ill or never slumped on Saturday is just a way of trying to deny him medical attention.

He is ill and constantly checks into the clinic at the Commission and you have seen the health reports. This is pure wickedness," Precious said.

There Will Be World War III If Hillary Clinton Is Elected - Donald Trump Warns

$

Controversial presidential candidate, Donald Trump warned in an interview on Tuesday that Hillary Clinton's policies as president to address the Syrian conflict would lead to World War III, arguing the Democratic nominee would draw the US into armed confrontation with Russia, Syria and Iran.

"What we should do is focus on ISIS. We should not be focusing on Syria," Trump told Reuters on Tuesday morning at his resort in Doral, Florida. "You're going to end up in World War III over Syria if we listen to Hillary Clinton."

The Republican nominee, who has called for a rapprochement with Russia in order to jointly combat ISIS, argued that his Democratic rival's calls for taking a more aggressive posture in Syria to bring the conflict there to an end and combat ISIS will only draw the US into a larger war. Trump's remarks come as he trails Clinton in most national and key battleground state polls just two weeks from Election Day.

"You're not fighting Syria anymore, you're fighting Syria, Russia and Iran, all right? Russia is a nuclear country, but a country where the nukes work as opposed to other countries that talk," he said.

Trump: I'd 'love' to fight Biden

Trump has not laid out a clear strategy for combating ISIS or addressing the globally destabilizing conflict in Syria, which has killed hundreds of thousands and pushed millions more to flee their homes. He has suggested the US should allow ISIS, anti-government rebels and the Syrian government to fight it out and more recently has focused on joining forces with Russia -- which has aided the Syrian regime in the bombing of civilians and US-allied rebels -- to combat ISIS.

"Assad is secondary, to me, to ISIS," Trump told Reuters of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whom US officials have argued must step down.

Clinton has called for establishing a no-fly zone over Syria to help bring the five-year civil war to an end, a proposal top Republicans in Congress have championed, which President Barack Obama and others have opposed due to the risk of entering into conflict with Russia. A US-enforced no-fly zone would mean the US could shoot down a Russian jet should it enter Syrian airspace.

Clinton addressed those concerns in the final presidential debate, arguing that it would "save lives and hasten the end of the conflict," while cautioning that "this would not be done just on the first day."

"This would take a lot of negotiation and it would also take making it clear to the Russians and the Syrians that our purpose is to provide safe zones on the ground," Clinton said during the debate earlier this month. "I think we could strike a deal and make it very clear to the Russians and Syrians that this was something that we believe the best interests of the people on the ground in Syria. It would help us in the fight against ISIS."

Trump has additionally called for establishing safe zones in Syria to protect civilians -- as has Clinton -- which could also put the US in conflict with the Syrian government or Russia should they oppose the policy.

The Clinton campaign later Tuesday pushed back against Trump's rhetoric.

"National security experts on both sides of the aisle have denounced Donald Trump as dangerously ill-prepared and temperamentally unfit to serve as commander-in-chief," Clinton spokesman Jesse Lehrich said. "Once again, he is parroting Putin's talking points and playing to Americans' fears, all while refusing to lay out any plans of his own for defeating ISIS or alleviating humanitarian suffering in Syria. Moreover, this incendiary attack is aimed at a policy that his own running mate, Mike Pence, strongly supports."

While Clinton has accused Trump of being Putin's "puppet," Trump knocked Clinton for her criticism of the Russian strongman, asking, "How she is going to go back and negotiate with this man who she has made to be so evil."

And just two days after he tied the successful enactment of his agenda as president to the election of Republican majorities in Congress, Trump also returned to his more typical complaints of a lack of Republican unity weighing down his candidacy.

"If we had party unity, we couldn't lose this election to Hillary Clinton," he told Reuters.

That complaint didn't put Trump in more of a bipartisan mood, though, as the Republican nominee also told Reuters he would not consider putting any Democrats in his cabinet -- a departure from recent presidents, who have sought to post at least one member of their rival party in a top administration post.

Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris

House of Representatives has summoned the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to appear before it over escalating cases of extra-judicial killings in the country by his men. The police boss is to appear before the House Committees on Police Affairs and Human Rights, along with heads of other security agencies.

The House cited the case of Bayelsa State, where it said the Joint Task Force and the police had killed four “innocent Nigerians” in the last two weeks. A lawmaker from Bayelsa State, Mr. Douye Diri, who moved a motion on the killings, recalled that one of the victims was the late Izu Joseph.

Joseph was a footballer, who played for 3SC of Ibadan. Diri named other victims as 17-year-old Innocent Kokorifa; a 30 year-old man, Inyan; and five-year-old girl, Godgift Oduku. The lawmaker mentioned Eleki Community in Yenagoa Local Government Area as the place the extra-judicial killings took place

“The House is worried that in the last two weeks, the Nigeria Police in Bayelsa State Command/JTF have shot and killed four innocent Nigerians. “That the trend, if not checked, may lead to a breakdown of the law and order in a situation where the people will be forced to defend themselves from attacks from the very police who have been paid by tax payers to protect them”, he said.

The Chairman, House Committee on Ethics/Privileges, Mr. Nicholas Ossai, enjoined members to rise against extra-judicial killings by security agencies. “This matter of killings has to be properly investigated. “We should rise against injustice and recklessness by security agencies. This certainly cannot continue,” Ossai added.

Another member from Bayelsa State, Sodaguwo Festus-Omoni, described the killings as “worrisome.”

Just a side note: SARS is the culprit of this matter.

See 4 People Who Turned Down President Buhari's Appointments & Why

$

Not trying to make an impression but it is worthy to analyse why these excellent candidates vehemently rejected their nominations. What seems to be the season of nomination refusals? Is quite strange. President Buhari has had his nominations refused four times recently.

Here are the four people that refused his nominations and their reasons for doing so: In case you still wonder if there are still real Nigerians, here is your answer.

1. Usman Bugaje

Usman Bugaje

Honourable Dr Usman Bugaje is a graduate of pharmacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He graduated in 1975. He later did an MA in African Studies and a PhD in Intellectual History, both at the Institute of African and Asian Studies, University of Khartoum, Sudan. He is a writer on national and international issues, and has published in both academic and non-academic journals and other media.

Dr Bugaje was conferred the honorary title of commander of the order of civil Merit and commander of the order of independent Equatorial Guinea by the president of republic of equatorial Guinea on 26th March, 2002.

He rejected President Buhari’s ambassadorial nomination, and he was convinced not to mention his decision to the media.

2. Dame Pauline Tallen

Dame Pauline Tallen

Dame Pauline Tallen is the former deputy governor of Plateau state. She is also a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) board of trustees. She turned down the offer for nomination for ambassadorial appointment to attend to her ailing husband.

Tallen said she appreciated the president for counting her worthy to serve Nigeria in the capacity of an ambassador, however, she has to let go to attend to her ailing husband.

According to her, she would not be able to leave her husband who has been sick for sometime now, in the hands of others to look after him, for the sake of the appointment. “It is a hard decision I had to take but I have to, because he is my primary responsibility,”

3. Professor Akintunde Akinwande

Professor Akintunde Akinwande

Professor Akintunde Ibitayo Akinwande is a Nigerian American engineering professor at the electrical engineering and computer science department of Massachusetts institute of technology. Akinwande commenced work as a scientist at Honeywell Inc. Technology Center in Bloomington, Minnesota in 1986, initially researching on Gas Complementary FET technology for very high speed and low power signal processing.

Professor Akinwande rejected an offer by the president to serve in the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) as chairman. According to the Nation, Akinwande turned down the offer based on the alleged fact that he was not consulted before the nomination was made.

4. Najatu Muhammad

Najatu Muhammad

Naja’atu Bala Muhammad, is the first woman to win a Senate seat in Central Kano for the Kano senatorial seat in central district and the first to serve as president of the National Students (Student Union for president in Nigeria). She was born in 1956, in the neighborhood sycamore tree Can, the central city of Kano. The federal government on Saturday, February 13, 2015, appointed Muhammad as the chairperson of the governing board of the Dutse federal university through a paid advertorial on a national daily.

“Sir, I Najatu Muhammad wishes (wish) to thank you so much for considering me worthy of being appointed the chairperson of Dutse Federal University. “It’s however unfortunate that I was not consulted before the announcement in the media.  I also regret that I have to use the same medium to announce that I can’t accept the appointment for personal reasons.”

Police Arrest Assassins Hired By A Banker To Kill Her Ex-Husband In Lagos - Photo

Women are evil. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspected hired-assassins and a female banker over failed attempt to assassinate her ex-husband identified as Tochukwu Onyebuchi. The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu paraded the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

He said the banker, Oluchi Tochukwu, hired the suspected criminals to assassinate her husband in his residence at Ayobo area of Lagos State. Iliyasu named the two suspected assassins as Chigozie Smart (32) and Kingsley Ikechukwu (36).

He said they were intercepted and arrested on Oct. 19 at Ijebu-Ode while attempting to escape to Onitsha with the victim’s Range Rover Jeep. He said Oluchi was arrested at Ayobo area of Lagos State. He said, “One Oluchi, a 32-year-old banker, who is married to one Tochukwu Onyebuchi years ago, got separated from her husband following some matrimonial problems.

“The custody of their only child is currently being contested in the court but Oluchi has another plan.
“She connived with the trio of Chigozie Smart, Kingsley Ikechukwy and one other who is now at large to eliminate her husband.

“She arranged for the weapons which includes cutlass, iron rods and acid which she kept in her husband’s compound at Ayobo area of Lagos State and described where she kept it to the assailants. “The suspects went there on Wednesday as planned and matcheted the man severally on his head and poured the acid on him. “The suspects thereafter abandoned the victim and took away his range Rover Jeep which Oluchi instructed them to drop at her brother’s place in Onitsha, Anambra State.

“Luck ran against them when a patrol team of the Ogun State command on Wednesday sighted the vehicle along the Ijebu-Ode/Benin expressway and stopped it for search. “While searching the vehicle, blood stain was seen and the two occupants were unable to give satisfactory account of the blood stain, hence, they were arrested. “It was during interrogation that the suspects revealed all that transpired to the police.”

The commissioner said that the victim, who had been treated at an undisclosed hospital, was in the custody of the police helping them in the process of investigation. Oluchi, however, denied contracting the duo of Chigozie and Kingsley and one other at large to assassinate her husband.

Oluchi, who acknowledged that her three-year-old marriage to her husband had crashed, told journalists that she had no reason to kill him. Meanwhile, Chigozie told newsmen that it was Oluchi who hired them to kill her husband with a promise to purchase “Tokunbo” cars for each of them after a successful operation.

Babatunde Oyebode

Is amazing what torture can do. The Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Lagos, revealed on Monday that a suspected fraudster, one Babatunde Oyebode (pictured) was arrested for allegedly attempting to blackmail and swindle high profile businessmen and Nigerians. Oyebode's victims submitted different petitions to the SFU, accusing him of fraudulently running a website, naijagistlive.com to send threat messages to people, demanding for huge sums of money to pull down negative stories about them or delete comments.

Now, initial investigation by LIB into the website, revealed that back in March 2016, someone tried to expose Oyebode and his partner's fraudulent activities in the comment section of a post put up on the site

Read below.........

We can now exclusively confirm that Babatunde Oyebode has confessed to extortion of cash and other items through blackmail using naijagistlive's scandalous posts and this is fact! Oyebode, popularly known as Baudex on social media, in a video confession to the Police stated that he co-owns the website. He runs it with a lady, believed to be based outside Nigeria.

Email correspondence between him and his accomplice revealed that he was mainly responsible for upgrades on the site, to prevent it from being shut down by hackers. They conversed with one another about extorting their victims, revealing that Paypal and other means are used to receive whatever amount of cash they demand.

They also had conversations about receiving various payments, which victim had paid or not, and price plans for any removal. Huge sums of money have been paid by Nigerians to take down comments!

A particular conversation was highlighted, in which Oyebode and his accomplice spoke about one of the female victims, describing her in unpleasant terms and agreeing to put up a post about her. Incriminating voice notes were also found on his phone.

Also, Oyebode's girlfriend was in contact with his partner in crime through his account on Instagram after his arrest. Investigators initially had access to the account where chats between Oyebode's girlfriend and 9jagistlive were found, in which she revealed she just found out he had been arrested and wanted to know the next step. Suspecting that something was amiss, the password was quickly changed but the damage had already been done. The police is now out to arrest his girlfriend.

Oyebode was picked up by the Police during his third attempt to extort a businessman in Lagos. LIB can authoritatively confirm that after extorting thousands of dollars from the said business man, he continued to make attempts to blackmail and demand for more, saying that he had more stories to run. This was however how he met his waterloo, as he was arrested while trying to pick up the money paid into his Nigerian account.

Obanikoro Still In EFCC Custody As He Fails To Refund First N100m

$

Former Minister of State (Defence) Musiliu Obanikoro is yet to refund the N785million allegedly collected from the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA), The Nation learnt yesterday. Of the cash, Obanikoro planned to immediately refund about N100million to regain his freedom and look for the balance.

From ONSA, about N4.685billon was transferred to Sylva McNamara Limited, a company allegedly linked to the ex-minister. Obanikoro told Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detectives that N3.880billion was given to Governor Ayodele Fayose and Sen. Iyiola Omisore out of the said cash.

He also said he handed over $5.377m (N60m then) cash to Fayose at Spotless Hotel, Ado-Ekiti in the presence of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretary Tope Aluko and other party stalwarts. He said the balance of N785million was expended on alleged anti-Boko Haram campaign in Lagos and the Southwest by Sylvan Mcnamara.

The ex-minister is said to be desperately seeking how to refund the money.

A top source, who spoke with our correspondent, said: “The ex-Minister is yet to pay back any money out of the N785million in question. Although he promised initial remittance of N100million, he is yet to do so. “Instead, he said he will make a commitment to the EFCC to refund the cash. He begged for more time to enable him to look for the refund.

“We are however expecting him to make reasonable refund; we cannot accept just an undertaking from him. He needs to live up to his promise. “The refusal to refund any amount has been a major issue why his bail is being delayed.” The EFCC had discovered that Sylvan Mcnamara Limited, allegedly owned by Obanikoro and his sons, was used to launder the N4.745billion.

The company, which was incorporated in November 2011, has the following as its directors: a close aide of the ex-minister, Ikenna Ezekwe(700,000 shares) of 51 Simpson Street, Ebute-Metta; Idowu Oshodi(299,000 shares) of 8, Prince Tayo Adesanya Street, Park View Estate, Ikoyi; and Elizabeth Adebiyi(1,000 shares) of 3, Adedoyin Street, Ijeshatedo, Surulere.

Ezekwe’s accounts have been defrozen by the EFCC since the slush funds were not traced to him.

Ezekwe has also been removed as the company’s director.

A document, which The Nation stumbled on, said: “To set the stage for the use of the company for money laundering, the board of directors on May 7, 2012 passed a resolution that the company should open an account and appointed Mr. Gbolahan Obanikoro, Ikenna Ezekwe, Ms. Theresa Matuluko (Secretary) and Mr. Babajide Obanikoro as the signatories to the account.

“The board added that the signing combination be that any of the signatories can sign alone.” According to EFCC, when it was time to illegally draw the N4.745billion from ONSA as war chest for Ekiti Governorship poll, ex-Minister Obanikoro made the account of Sylvan Mcnamara Limited available and coordinated the disbursement.

Nigeria Army Says 39 Soldiers Are Missing After Boko Haram Attack, Not 83

In a desperate cover-up of its handling of the 83 missing soldiers after a Boko Haram attack, two senior officers of the Nigerian Army have given uncoordinated statements on the attack. While the man who officially speaks for the Nigerian Army claimed the army could not release true figures of the missing soldiers, a major general several hundred kilometres away said only “39” soldiers are missing.

Premium Time News had reported how 83 Nigerian soldiers, including a commanding officer, went missing after a major attack by insurgents. Several of the soldiers, who fled their station due to the superior firepower of the terrorists, were later feared dead from drowning in the River Yobe. On Wednesday, at two different interactions with the media, Army spokesman Sani Usman, and Lucky Irabor, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole in the north-east, issued the different statements to reporters about the number of missing troops.

While Mr. Usman, a colonel, told an online news platform, Pulse Nigeria, that the Army won’t disclose the number of missing soldiers, Mr. Irabor told reporters in Maiduguri that 39 soldiers were missing. In his interview, Mr. Usman told Pulse Nigeria that the Army issued a statement after the attack, but did not give the number of missing troops. “We issued a statement of what happened. We did not mention the number of soldiers that were missing. “Eventually, we went to the theatre of war. But they didn’t bother to ask us that we should tell them the number of soldiers that were missing,” Mr. Usman said.

Despite being pressed about the specific number of those missing, Mr. Usman remained elusive. Apart from deflecting questions, Mr. Usman also charged this newspaper to justify the missing persons — completely absorbing the Army of the responsibility to give names and figures of the missing uniformed men. “Yeah, but the figures Premium Times reeled out are outrageous and not correct. I tried to make them understand that look, all you have to do is ask for information, not speculate, not say that everybody is a criminal because that is the way it looks like,” Mr. Usman said. “I declined to comment on the number Premium Times gave so that wherever they got that information, they should go and justify it.”

On his part, Mr. Irabor was quoted by the New Agency of Nigeria as saying that the Army declared 39 soldiers missing. “It is true that about 39 soldiers were declared missing,” the major general said even though his statement was the first official one mentioning a figure for the missing officials. Mr. Irabor added that some of the soldiers have returned, but declined to provide figures, NAN reported. ”I want to inform you that a sizeable number of our soldiers had returned to base,” Mr. Irabor said. “I think it is only a handful that have not been found.”

Mr. Usman had in a different interview maintained that the Army will not release the number of missing soldiers to avoid complicating rescue efforts. Notwithstanding, PREMIUM TIMES stands by its reports that 83 soldiers were feared missing in the attack, which also left some soldiers dead. As with the missing, the Army had been silent on the number of dead soldiers from the attack.

On Wednesday morning, this newspaper reported that the Army had launched a probe into the Gashigar attack. A colonel who was amongst those missing had since been replaced by a captain. The army’s refusal to come clean on the fate of the soldiers appears part of efforts to manipulate information to the public on the happenings in the north-east. In December 2015, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, asked the media to consider “national interests” when reporting Boko Haram attacks, a euphemism used by many governments to seek suppression of unfavourable stories.

“Acting in the national interest means not playing up reports of cowardly Boko Haram attacks on soft targets,” Mr. Mohammed said during a press briefing on Christmas Eve. Also, following our exclusive report last Saturday about how soldiers were enduring months of unpaid salaries and their allowances also being held by their superiors, the Army hurriedly began paying them that same weekend.

Several troops confirmed the development to PREMIUM TIMES. Presently, family members of soldiers stationed at Gashigar are getting increasingly agitated because they haven’t been able to contact their loved ones. It was also learnt that telecom signals in the area have been put off, making it difficult for family members to confirm whether their loved ones were amongst those missing.

Can this be termed as beginners luck? What a twist of faith. It has always been said sometimes that the road you chose to avoid might be the road that will get you to a successful end. Take the case of this 57 years old woman who in all her life believe that lottery is a waste of money and as such have never entered into one before.

She just went out to buy a lottery ticket to prove to her husband is a waste of money and hence to stop him from wasting the little they have buying these tickets all the time and lo and behold, she wins a whopping one million dollars ($1 million). Can this be called beginners luck?

Patience Jonathan To EFCC: For Freezing My $15M, You WIll Should Pay Me Extra $200m

Patience Jonathan

They say a man with means is a God of his own. This is simply what is playing on ex president's wife Dane Patience. A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday fixed December 7 to hear a suit by ex-First Lady, Patience Jonathan, against the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, seeking to unfreeze her account.

Apart from the EFCC, other respondents are Skye Bank and a former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripama-Owei Dudafa. Also joined in the suit are Pluto Property and Investment company Ltd, Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Ltd, Transocean Property and Investment Company Ltd and Globus Integrated Service Ltd. The ex-first lady is demanding $200 million from the commission as damages for infringing on her rights.

She is also urging the court to issue an order discharging the freezing order and restraining the EFCC and its agent from further placing a freezing order on the said accounts. When the case was called on Wednesday, Rotimi Oyedepo, announced appearance for the EFCC, while Granville Abibo appeared for Mrs. Jonathan. Addressing the court, Mr. Oyedepo informed the judge that the case was coming up for the first time, adding that some of the respondents had yet to be served with the court’s processes. He said the case was not yet “ripe for hearing”, having been served with the processes on October 19 and is yet to file a response.

His submission was, however, not contested by counsel to the plaintiff. Consequently, Justice Babs Kuewumi fixed December 7 for hearing. In an affidavit in support deposed to by Sammie Somiari, a lawyer, he averred that on March 22, 2010, she (Jonathan) had opened five different accounts with Skye Bank with the assistance of one Damola Bolodeoku and Dipo Oshodi. He averred that the account mandate forms were duly completed and signed by her.

According to him, Mrs. Jonathan subsequently discovered that apart from one of the accounts that bore her name, the other four accounts were opened in the name of four companies which were companies belonging to Dudafa. He said she also observed that the ATM cards of the said accounts were issued in the names of the companies, adding that she complained to Dudafa, who promised to effect the necessary changes. He said Dipo Oshodi also promised to effect the necessary changes.

Mr. Somiari averred that Mrs. Jonathan is not a director, shareholder or participant in these companies and the funds in the said accounts were solely owned and operated by her. “Dudafa does not own any part of the funds in the said accounts.” According to the deponent, the Skye Bank official (Mr. Oshodi) did not effect the instructions of the plaintiff to change the name of the said accounts to her name, in spite of repeated request.

He stated that notwithstanding the refusal of the bank to effect the necessary changes, she had been using the said ATM cards without any interference. The deponent averred that sometime in July, Mrs. Jonathan discovered that the ATM cards were not functioning, and immediately contacted the bank, who informed her that a “No debit/freezing order” had been placed on the accounts. “On further enquiry, the bank informed her that the accounts were frozen on the directive of EFCC as a result of ongoing investigation in relation to Mr. Dudafa.” Jonathan, therefore, contended that she was never arrested or invited by the EFCC prior to the freezing order placed on the accounts.

She further contends that the freezing order on her funds on the directive of EFCC without an order of the court is unlawful and illegal. Consequently, Mrs. Jonathan is seeking an order of court, directing the unfreezing of her account forthwith and also wants an order restraining the EFCC from taking further steps in relation to the said account pending the determination of the suit.

Michael Omani

Micheal Omani, a professional dancer has called out Dance Queen, Kaffy for her ill treatment of dancers. In a Facebook video, Micheal lashed out at Kaffy.

He said:
Dance Queen, Kaffy

I disagree with what Kaffy did. If you want to throw shades at anybody, do it without involving dancers because the same thing you said Davido did to you is what you do to us and I bet if dancer vote we’ll vote you out that you are wrong.

You call dancers for shows, you don’t pay them, you take dancers to Calabar and you leave them there stranded, call dancers to your house and put 50 people in one room and you travel round the world calling yourself queen of dance in Nigeria. A queen takes care of her followers, you don’t take care of us and you are putting us in your beef.’

'I agree with Davido, anything Davido do to you, you deserve it' - See video below as shared by a Facebook user @Emeka Adindu

Inspite of that, HKN Boss, Davido have claimed that he doesn't have any beef with Kaffy in an interview. He even said he was surprised to hear the news that Kaffy is angry at him and "calling him out".
